DriverSHIELDS Testing
- Design of the current model of shield has been made using the best features from earlier models used in other countries; with improvements and use of latest technology.
- Our manufacturer has a long experience of supplying shields in Canada and the U.S. where a need for this equipment has existed for many years. This experience has been invaluable to us in designing the best type of shields for use in the U.K. and these designs have been accepted and registered with the appropriate E.U. authority.
- DriverSHIELDS are made from 6mm tough clear polycarbonate vacuum moulded and shaped to fit around the full width of the seatback following the contour of the inside of the door pillar. Shields are full length (90cm - 36") finishing at the bottom of the driver's seat and do not impede footwell space. There is a reinforced rubber covered steel edging around the shield.
- The mounting hardware consists of brackets, three nuts and bolts which allows the shield to be secured in place with a 13mm spanner.
- The brackets can be adjusted vertically and horizontally in order to ensure that the shield is mounted correctly. A tension adjustment strap is located at the lower edge of the shield to ensure that it is held firmly in place. Fittings takes only a few minutes. There is nothing visible on rear of the fitted shield which can be interfered with by a back seat passenger.
- Various manufacturer's and professional testing has been carried out on the shield. Click below to see test reports and a short video clip of the MIRA vehicle crash body test. This conforms to Regulation ECE 17 Annex 6 Impacts testing.
